Nov. 29, 2014

We left San Juan at 9am. With the intention of driving north to Talapaya park which was recommended we visit, but after some kilometres of more desert we decided to head for the mountains and cooler temps. Went to see the bridge of the Inka, there it was cooler and very windy, windy is an understatement, when I opened the van door the tupperware container on my seat got sucked out and blew over the parking lot and was gone.
There we also met Crissy and Angie two sisters on a motorbike, we gave them a lift to the outlook as the wind was too strong for the Yamaha 150.
The park warden told us a storm was expected for the nite Nd next day so we drove back to Uspayatta and spent the nite there with no wind and a balmy 20 degrees.
Today we made it to  Magargue, again the landscape very desolate except for the Mendoza region. Here we got an oil change for the Blue Wonder and are now parked behind a YPF station, had supper and just looked out and it is snowing. It was the first rain of the year here so the roads are slick but we did not expect snow.
Tomorrow we will check email and then on to Bariloche.
Hugs to all.
Norbert and Greti
