We made it.

Today we arrived in Ushuaia around noon, with sunny sky's and no wind.
Our arrival here has been delayed by 43 years. Let me explain.
When we immigrated to Canada in 1968 our plan twas to work hard and save as much as possible for 3 years then buy  an VW camper and drive all the way down to Ushuaia.
Then life got away with us, kids, business a home and then the grandkids but
December 14, 2014 we fulfilled our dream. To Top it off, with todays technology we  can share this moment with friends and Family. The little bear Isy had given us to leave at the entrance of Ushuaia is coming back with us, we could not bring ourself to leave him here as he has been on our dashboard for 33,000 km. and is part of our journey and will come back to Vancouver with us.
Hugs to all

  1. WOW congratulations! The pictures are fabulous. What an experience! With both of you and Bev in the Southern Hemisphere, this is the year for Adventure.
I wish you both a very Merry Christmas.

  2. Prachtige foto's en al zover gekomen. Groeten, Walter en Tiny

  3. We hebben een Google account aangemaakt, en kunnen eindelijk reageren op je blog. We zijn onder de indruk van jullie reis

  4. Well I can see why you don't want to part with that bear. We have one on our dashboard too, but he has only gone about 10000km....

  5. Thank you all for your comments. It makes us feel connected to our friends and family who we miss from time to time.

  7. Greti I went back to your first ever post when you began your website here. I then came forward in time. NO where did I find a mission statement that: We immigrated to Canada in 1968 from ______ and since that day we have wanted to return to ______ .. Did you immigrate from Ushuaia ? Smiles .. Cap from Alaska in Hong Kong .. are you aware I also have web sites .. Cheerio .. just can't put the pieces together on your trip to South America ..

  8. Mooi, mooi, mooi, wat een avontuur.
    Liefs Harold
